The BioKnob™ (bio knob) 100s is an advance-technology biometric fingerprint door lock shaped like an elegant door knob. At the center of the outside knob is a tiny sensor that registers the pattern of users thumb or fingerprint patterns. Up to 500 (4 templates / each user) users can have their fingerprints enrolled in the BioKnob for entry. Unobtrusive buttons and a small display allow all programming and settings to be done at the lock with no external wiring or computer needed. Users no longer have to carry keys, or worry about losing or forgetting them. Families do not have to hide keys in the yard, or maintain duplicate sets of keys. Most importantly, there is no danger of strangers finding or stealing keys for unauthorized entry. Temporary visitors can have their fingerprints enrolled, then individually deleted, with no keys to be issued or returned. The Bioknob Recognition Door lock system is excellent for the residential home or commercial office

How Does a Biometric Reader Work?
A biometric reader can be used as a stand-alone or a networked operation, perfect for home or office. An authorized person has their physical characteristic scanned and turned into a numerical algorithm which is then entered into a database. The authorized person must subsequently provide that same physical characteristic- for example, their hand, to be read and recognized by the biometric reader before access is granted.
Why Use a Biometric Reader?
- A biometric lock is a more reliable security device than your average lock or keypad.
- Only the person authorized access can successfully pass a biometric reader.
- A key, card, or number sequence can be passed around or easily stolen.
- A biometric reader requires that the authorized person be physically present for access to be granted.
- Thieves and other criminals would have a difficult time getting past a biometric reader.
